The modules
The photovoltaic panels themselves. Make, wattage and warranty all vary, and all three should be written on your quote.
No part of this is mysterious, and none of it should be a surprise. Here is the whole sequence, including the bits that depend on the DISCOM rather than on us.
On the roof
What a completed commercial rooftop installation looks like from above.
Rooftop solar array
Panels mounted in rows on a flat commercial roof.
The parts of a system
Five things make up a rooftop solar installation. A quote that does not name all five is not a complete quote.
The photovoltaic panels themselves. Make, wattage and warranty all vary, and all three should be written on your quote.
The galvanised frame that holds the panels at the right angle and survives the wind. Cheap structure is where corners get cut.
Converts panel output into the AC your building uses. Its rating has to match the array, now and after any later expansion.
Cabling, protection devices and earthing. Invisible when right, dangerous when wrong.
The bi-directional meter that counts what you export against what you draw. Fitted by the DISCOM after inspection.
The sequence
Your last electricity bill. That is the only thing we need to start.
Roof measurement, shadow check through the day, and a look at your existing wiring and meter.
System size, expected generation, equipment named, and the subsidy shown as its own line.
Registered on the national portal as a registered vendor, with your consumer details.
Structure, panels, inverter, wiring and earthing. Days, not weeks, once material is on site.
This part runs on their timeline. Once the net meter is in, the system is live and the subsidy follows.
Practical questions
The installation itself is a few days on a typical home. The overall timeline is usually decided by the DISCOM approval and net meter rather than by us, and that varies. We will tell you where your application stands rather than leaving you to guess.
A standard grid-tied system shuts down during an outage — that is a safety requirement, so it cannot feed a line that someone may be working on. If you need backup during outages, that needs batteries, which is a different system and a different cost. Tell us at the survey if that matters to you.
Mostly cleaning. Dust on panels costs you generation, and Nagpur gets dusty. Beyond that it is periodic inverter and connection checks.
Panels and inverters carry manufacturer warranties, which we register and which are stated on your quote. We handle the claim and the replacement.
Up to ₹78,000 back on a residential rooftop system, paid by the Government of India. We handle the application, the inspection and the net meter. Book a free survey and we will tell you exactly what your roof qualifies for.
